Alabama

(Mom here...We decided that after researching each state, and their famous foods, that I would ask L a set of four standard questions for every state. The answers to these questions will be the body of each blog post.)

The first state I chose was Alabama. I chose it because it is one of Florida's border states so I thought it would be a good first start.

What would you want to see?

I would like to see the Cathedral Caverns

I would also like to see the Little River Canyon

What would you want to do while you were there?

I would like to watch the hot air balloon races at the annual Alabama Jubilee.

Who would you want to meet? Person can be from past or present.

I would like to meet Rosa Parks and ask her about how she helped gain rights for African American people.

What would you want to eat?

Fried okra, fried okra, and more fried okra!!!

While researching the foods of Alabama, we couldn't find anything too specific, but what we did see over and over again was a variety of fried foods. So, we decided to go with fried chicken, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, and banana pudding. Honestly, this was a meal that you can easily find many places in the South, but we think it worked just fine for Alabama.
